Location: Branford, CT

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform
 Read and interpret analog and digital electrical circuit schematics and printed circuit board layouts for prototype circuit creation and debugging
 Develop printed circuit boards using OrCAD layout development tools compatible to EMC requirements
 Convert electrical schematics provided by engineering to prototype test hardware using surface mount components in an expeditious manner with minimal supervision
 Provide general electronics and mechanical developmental testing and support for the research and engineering department
 Work to internally written test plans and acceptance test procedures, or to customer or Government documentation
 Coordinate and participate with outside test facilities as required for certification testing, which cannot be performed at HarcoSemco
 Perform Failure Analysis / Debugging / Problem Solving on various products and prototypes
 Work with electronics test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, soldering tools, data acquisition test boxes (RS-232/485), environmental chambers for testing and debugging
 Mechanical and electrical assembly of hi-tech products with unsurpassed attention to detail
 Operate, maintain and troubleshoot all equipment (production and engineering research) in the engineering laboratory
 Participate in training as required
 Must be able to push, pull, and lift at least 20 lbs.
 Must be a “US Person” as defined by US Govt. and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data
 Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:
 Education: Associates in Electronics Technology, Electronics Technician Certificate or equivalent desired
 Experience: 5+ years of experience, or some combination thereof

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
 Highly-skilled in general electronics circuit theory (basic circuit laws, OpAmp theory, communication protocols, power supplies) and circuit elements (resistors, capacitors, inductors, OpAmps)
 Experience with printed circuit board layout using OrCAD development tools a plus
 Proficient with the following electronics test equipment: multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, soldering tools, data acquisition test boxes (RS-232/485) for testing and debugging
 Able to work independently, under the general guidance of the Research and Development Manager, for such tasks as soldering, prototype circuit creation, running calibrations, debugging and maintaining test equipment
 Prior work (basic architecture, programming, debugging) with in-circuit microcontrollers a plus
 Able to read, interpret, and understand electrical circuits, component datasheets, and general analog and digital circuitry discrete components
 Able to operate all standard lab equipment or learn how to operate it from reading manuals
 Must be computer literate
 Must be detail oriented and able to perform work with complete accuracy

 None
Training Requirements:
 Complete various trainings as required

Physical Demands:
 Some lifting, moving instrumentation, performing tests in various areas of the facility required
 Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, and move about our facility

Work Environment:
 Work usually performed in a combination of office and plant setting

Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
