The Supply Chain Specialist will focus on working collaboratively with Finance, Engineering, and other business partners to achieve company-wide goals. The Specialist will assist in day to day functions and special projects that assist in continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Serve as the champion for Inventory Management i.e. SOP updates, process development, and system integration
Create and implement an Inventory Program to improve tracking and reporting functionality across all company locations
Work closely with the Engineering Department in the development of new products including the sourcing of suppliers, obtaining samples, and quotes
Drive regulatory improvement in Purchase Price Variance (PPV) through RFQ’s, auctions, and negotiations with suppliers
Work collectively with other team members to negotiate terms and conditions for long term contracts and suppliers.
Analyze data and trends to identify projects to yield greater efficiencies and a higher ROI (Return on Investment). Adjusts inventories as needed to minimize purchasing costs
Work cooperatively with the team to ensure documentation meets both federal and state regulatory requirements.
Development of off-shore sources of supply as needed
Assist with buyer/planner tasks as needed
Serve as the primary point of contact with customer, regulatory, or certifying audit authorities
Spearhead efforts to identify and implement cost reduction opportunities
Manage and drive KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators)
Demonstrate proficiency with MS Software packages including but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Ensure departmental compliance to all quality / operating policies, procedures and standards
Maintain the supplier base
Participate in training as required.
Must be a “US Person” as defined by US Govt. and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data
Able to travel domestic and international up to 25%
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in any related discipline required.
At least 5 – 10 years’ experience in international purchasing and/or procurement experience preferred
Experience identifying and sourcing materials based on blueprints and other technical documents.
Experience utilizing ERP software – Visual a plus
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of contract negotiation, project management, purchasing and supply chain management.
Must have good computer skills including ability to work within MRP systems.
Excellent verbal, written, communication skills
Ability to set priorities to meet internal & external customer demands.
Must be highly organized, a self-starter and able to work independently.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 20 lbs.
Work in an office and manufacturing environment.
